Shajan M.A. is a sociologist who has worked with Wildlife Trust of India (WTI) for the last 11 years. He joined as a Field Officer at the Elephant Corridor Securement Project in Wayanad, Kerala. He completed his post-graduate degree in social work from the University of Calicut, Kerala, and M.Phil. in psychiatric social work from Ranchi University, Jharkhand. He has been serving people for the last 20 years in different fields in Wayanad, Kerala. He loves driving, trekking, and working with people. Presently, he is working in the Wayanad Conflict Mitigation Project for WTI as a Senior Field Officer trying to reduce human-elephant and human–big cat conflict in the landscape with the support of different communities and government departments.
