Farukhkha Bloch hails from Gujarat, the westernmost state of India. His hometown is close to the GIR Lion sanctuary, the only refuge of Asiatic wild lions in the world. He has a master’s degree in Sociology and has worked with the Whale Shark Conservation Project run by the Wildlife Trust of India since 2013. Within his role, Bloch is responsible for the community outreach activities with fisher folks on the Gujarat coast.
