Steve Winter is a wildlife photojournalist with decades producing stories for National Geographic Magazine and other outlets. He specializes in wildlife, and particularly, big cats. Steve has appeared in and produced three wildlife documentaries for Nat Geo WILD and published two books: Tigers Forever: Saving the World’s Most Endangered Big Cat and The Ultimate Book of Big Cats. He is a Nat Geo Explorer; his work has been honored with the 2024 Alan Rabinowitz Conservation Award, National Geographic’s 2024 Eliza Scidmore Award for Storytelling; Picture of the Year International’s Global Vision Award; he’s been named BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year; and he’s received top honors from World Press Photo. He speaks globally on big cats and conservation for Nat Geo LIVE and is co-founder of the nonprofit Big Cat Voices.
