Lisa Moore, a fourth-generation Floridian, is an entrepreneur and philanthropist dedicated to the efforts to preserve, protect, and restore environmental resources. Moore is founder and operator of Gulf Atlantic Industrial Equipment, an industrial equipment, parts, and components business for domestic and international companies. She also co-founded and operates RWC Equipment Leasing, an industrial equipment rental company.
As president of Save Crystal River, Moore and a board of dedicated volunteers have increased awareness concerning water quality across Florida. Their efforts have raised more than $45 million, enabling the removal of more than 400 million tons of detrital material and the replanting of more than 92 acres with nearly 500,000 native eelgrass plants. This initiative, The Kings Bay Restoration Project, has been supported and funded by the City of Crystal River, Citrus County Board of County Commissioners, the Southwest Florida Water Management District, and the State of Florida. It also resulted in the opening of more than 850 spring vents throughout the initial project area. The project has become a model for the State of Florida, with an additional 85-acre project beginning in 2023.
