The planetary impact of largescale animal agriculture on biodiversity is immense – from the release of greenhouse gases, to the demand for available land at the expense of native ecosystems. Studies show that 75% of all agricultural land on earth is committed to raising livestock, and replacing meat products with plant-based foods could free up land the size of all of North America and Brazil…combined!

To quote Pat Brown: “This is at the expense of the biodiverse ecosystems that live there. The total number of wild mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish living on Earth …each of them is less than a third what it was fifty years ago. If that doesn’t send a chill down your spine, you’re not paying attention.”
