Protecting One of India’s Largest Wildlife Corridors

To give elephants space to safely migrate in densely populated places like India, conservationists protect wildlife corridors that allow the large animals to move freely through the landscape — often along routes they’ve used for generations.
These large tracts of habitat benefit countless other plants and animal as well, making elephants an “umbrella species” whose protection benefits other wildlife that shares the same ecosystem.
