As a photographer, Rejane Duarte da Costa opened paths in her work in the environmental world as a field assistant and a hard worker. Seed collection and fire control were part of Rejane Duarte’s daily routine until an opportunity arose to work in the nursery of the Instituto Terra de Protection Ambiental (ITPA). Among its activities, ITPA is working on reforesting 15 hectares in the Area of Environmental Protection (APA) Palmares, responsible for 70% of the water supply in the Paty do Alferes municipality of Rio de Janeiro. Her trajectory illustrates the increasing female role in the restoration of ecosystems.
